i would catch you

It is really irritating when I stumble upon a wedding blog that used ideas that I have thought of. Not that I'm planning my wedding or anything, but being a girl I think about these things. Early in college I had already thought of songs I wanted in my wedding, etc.

Today I found one that the couple's first dance song was one of my top choices! Stop it! I want to be original with that song. Sigh. It's not that big of a deal, but I like being the one who thought of it. Not copying off a silly blog. Good thing I have a back up song that I doubt many people would use. Boom.

I have decided that I really, really dislike people who drive in the KC area. Always driving super close behind me, cutting me off, glaring at me. My favorite is when they come up behind me so fast and then I try to move over so they can get by me on the left, so I turn on my blinker and just as I'm checking my blind spot THEY are changing into the right lane so they can pass me there. Excuse you, you are not following the rules of the road, mister/miss.

The bed intruder song is forever stuck in my head.

I wrote an essay last week. It was really fun. It was for a contest. Extremely cheesy, but such a wonderful outlet. I look forward to writing more as the weather gets colder and I don't want to go out into the world.

Outside it feels and smells like it's time to make apple pie and decorate for Halloween. I am pumped. But I will miss it being warm outside. Putting on/picking out a jacket/coat/sweater adds a few minutes to my getting ready time - not a fan.

you've changed for the better

Oh, the job hunt. Never fails to be an interesting time.

My fave thing right now is listening to all the interview and things that Clint is doing. Like, I seriously get more excited about this stuff when it has to do with him instead of me. Mainly because I know everyone will offer him a job.

Fall is upon us, my friends. I thought I would be ready for this (and I mainly am), but I am not equipped with the proper garments for this weather. And considering a month from now I'll be enjoying a very chilly NYC, I need to fix this fact.

When I was in Topeka I went through a ton of my stuff and got rid* of almost 70 CDs. Who in the WORLD has that many CDs? Oof. It is crazy. Also, clothes I have had since the beginning of HS. Why I still have them is beyond me, considering I was half the size I am now.

I wish Netflix wasn't so popular. All the DVDs I want have long or very long waits to get them. Stop having the same tastes as me, world!

Mm...any haircut ideas? I need something new.

*By "got rid" I mean I put them in boxes that I intend to sell sometime in the near future. One step at a time, people, one step at a time.

build my castle out of sand

Mid-September and life is good.

It is difficult to believe that a year ago I was still unemployed. What the heck was I doing with my life? Still looking for additional employment. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Although today my manager told me she would be really sad if I ever left the store. It was cute.

Having lunch at 3pm really makes me not hungry at ALL for dinner. I'll probably end up eating at 9.

In other news, I am using my very own laptop right now. For the first time in TWO MONTHS. Genius boyfriend fixed it and oh my goodness is it wonderful. I'm going to write an essay and send it to Real Simple and get it published and win a free trip to NYC now. Boom. Because I felt weird doing that on Mom's computer.

I am sore from hula hooping on Sunday and boxing, golfing, and bowling yesterday.

Yep. From the Wii.

I am a nerd. Nothing new here.

somewhere in detroit

I have decided (because a lot of my friends are planning theirs) that whenever I get to a point that I am engaged and planning a wedding, it would be really great to start a blog, get it popular, and then have the readers dedcide everything about it. The dress, location, venues, catering, colors, etc. That way, my guests have an input and my indecisive mind can rest easy! Liklihood of me actually doing that is small, but a fun idea anyway!

Before I forget to tell you: this is my 100th post. Crazy.

In other news, I have started to look for another job. Any and all suggestions would be quite lovely.

Also, I'll probably be wearing a prom dress at work tomorrow. So, come to Lush between 9 and 2 (yep, opening an hour early) and avoid the newest addition to the mall: the American Girl store...because it's gonna be NUTS.

in the way she moves

Been a while, right?

Yikes. I guess I have been right when I've told people I'm keeping busy.

Since my last post I have...

witnessed a bestie get married.
been promoted at my job.
returned to a long distance relationship.
started taking my niece to/from school again.
put a couple hundred miles on my car.
attended a concert.

I am sure I have done other exciting things, but that is all I can think of now.

My posts have ceased because my computer is dead to the world right now until my genius boy fixes it. Therefore, I am using my Mom's computer and it'll be interesting the day she stumbles upon this (if she hasn't already).

Anywho...here is a commercial I am obsessed with.

My Mom told my sister this would be perfect for me, but my sister realized that it would be perfect for me to do FOR someone, not for someone to do for me. Mainly because I have an extreme obsession with Sharpie pens and I love using post it notes.

Please take the time to pause it to read all of the post it notes. Holy crap is it full of cuteness.

That is all. Happy almost September. Mmm...for the first time in a long time I am ready for fall.

and your brown eyes

I have GOT to get my own place soon. I feel like that will help me emotionally and also suck a lot financially, but I have GOT to grow up.

Ahem. Excuse that little outburst.

Macaroni and cheese is one of my favorite things. If you didn't know that about me, you probably don't KNOW me.

I need to get out of town and have an adventure. My next scheduled adventures are in October, November, and December. I'll have to think of some way to survive the next two months. Especially with my main man moving away again in a few short weeks.

This week has been the worst emotional PMS I have had. It is like some crazy loon has taken over my mind and made me feel insane, inadequate, and unloving. Eek. I am excited to get over this hump and on to better feelings! Being a girl isn't the greatest sometimes.

Best friend's wedding this weekend. Say WHAT?! I will never get used to my friends getting married. I don't want that to happen so soon! We are young and not even halfway to fifty yet. I mean, being in love is great and I wish you all the best, but egads.

Today that little flame under my little booty ignited and all I want to do is perform or be back in the theatre world. Will that feeling ever go away?

Everyone go on a picnic. It makes the world a better place.

say what you will

Things I do not understand:

Not using your blinker.
Texting during a movie (or using your laptop) - unless you are alone.
Not emptying the dishwaser.
Honking at someone to merge, when you clearly didn't leave room for them to merge.
Going more than 6 over the speed limit.
Driving, turning to talk to your child in the backseat, talking on the phone, all while going through an intersection.
How ants multiply overnight.
Being an adult.

Also, it has been a long time since I have watched a really good movie. I need one soon to reassure me that Hollywood isn't losing it.
